Statue of Liberty

Alki Beach, Seattle, WA 98116

The Sea Scouts and Boy Scout troops of Seattle erected this “Little Sister of Liberty,” 1/18th the size of the iconic original in New York Harbor, in 1952 in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America. It was one of more than 200 similar replicas placed around the country between 1948 and 1952. Weathering over the years damaged the original, so a replacement was recast in 2004.
