Midtown Square sits at the historic corner of 23rd Avenue South and East Union Street. A collaboration between Lake Union Partners, HAL Real Estate, and members of the Black community, Midtown Square provides apartment housing, retail, and art that is intended to respond directly to the growing concerns of gentrification in the Central District. Midtown Square is activated through permanent art installations, outdoor seating, community events, and restaurants such as the iconic *Ms. Helen's Soul Bistro*. There are a number of other businesses and residential areas adjacent to Midtown Square, placing it right in the middle of community and plenty to do and visit.
