Ceramic artist Jim Stout has a longtime interest in clay structures that emit candlelight. He created the large menorah in his side yard from stoneware and porcelain fired in his wood-fired kiln on Lopez Island. He made the reflecting wall behind the “candles” from terra cotta. The entire installation is named “Carolyn’s Menorah”, in honor of his wife.
