Carolyn Downs Family Medical Center was named after Black Panther activist Carolyn Downs. As a community organizer, she was dedicated to addressing social injustices and invested countless hours the various Seattle, Washington Chapter of the Black Panther Party (SCBPP) survival programs, including the free breakfast program and sickle cell anemia testing.
