Alice Ball Park

8102 Greenwood Ave N, Seattle, WA 98103, USA

Born in 1892, Alice Ball accomplished an incredible feat, being the first African American and female chemist to graduate with a master’s degree. She later developed the “Ball Method,” which became the most effective treatment for leprosy in the early 20th century, freeing all those treated and having them no longer suffer from the symptoms. In honor of her great lifetime accomplishments, Alice Ball Park includes a looping path, a nice open area, a seating/gathering area, a sandbox, and a small nature immersion.
